Name : Chroma
Age : Unknown
Gender : Female
Sexuality : Unknown
Race : Infected
Faction : Independent.
Job : Wanderer
Color : 303030
Weapon : Chroma's unique weapon is a great sword made of black steel. It is almost indestructible, and way too heavy to be yielded by humans.
Psionic Ability : Chroma has a unique link with the Red Plague. Being the first vector of the sickness, she is in perfect symbiosis with it. Not only is she immune to the desease, but her body has also been reinforced by it, stronger and more resistant than any human body, and able to heal any wound. She can also sense the infected proportionally to their power (the stronger they are, the stronger she feels their presence).
Physical Description : Physically, Chroma looks like a small and thin girl in her twenties. Her skin is pale as a dead corpse and her hair are short and black. Her eyes are the only part of her body that truly shows that she is infected, their black schlerotic and red iris leaving no place for doubt. Her voice is soft and apathetic, giving the impression that she is constantly sleepy, or indifferent. Her body is a biological miracle : without any external assistance, she manage to surpass most of the upgrading gears made by man. Faster, stronger and tougher than anyone else in the Macropolis, Chroma is a deadly opponent. Her all body is covered by a black steel armor making her even more resistant.
Mental Description : Nobody remembers the Chroma from before, and it truly doesn't matter, because the Red Plague erased everything from her past self. She was reborn as Chroma, a virgin soul, neutral and impartial. That doesn't mean she's "blank". Even though she is often struck by a deep feeling of emptiness and apathy, Chroma can show some feelings at times. Curious and innocent, she tends to get in trouble. She likes to observe humans, how they live, evolve and die. This cycle fascinates her, having no memories of what being mortal feels like. She is spontaneously gentle and kind and is clean of any form of sin. She however prefers to stay behind and doesn't talk much. Chroma doesn't have any particularly negative opinion on the infected, but doesn't really feel linked to them either. Her mind process the information faster than any human being, but she can't always comprehend it. She is scared of being captured and held prisoner again, and therefore values freedom above everything else.
Story : Chroma is the patient zero, the first infected. She's the key to the understanding of the sickness, the key to the rebirth of humanity.
Chroma was no one. Just a tiny fraction of the huge mass of scum that swarms in the darkest areas of the Macropolis, hungry and powerless. Abandoned by a family that couldn't feed her, she didn't even have a name. She was a doll of flesh, begging and stealing, like everyone else. She had no past, no present, no future, nothing. But one day, in the dirty streets of the area 26, she met someone that would change her fate, and the one of the whole city. It could have been anyone. It was her.
The man didn't give her his name. He just showed her the symbol of wealth and power : the sign of Orb Corporation.
That's how she became the patient zero, the vector of the Red Plague that would soon rain over the Macropolis. The experiments were endless, restless, some humiliating, others painful. Scars began to flourish all over her mind and body. And soon, the bloody metamorphosis started. Chroma was horrified. Her entire body began to shift. Each outgrowth was cut, then tested. The pain was unbearable. But she wouldn't die. She couldn't die. No matter how much she would suffer, how much they would experiment on her, her body refused to die. The scientists were stunned by these results. Her synchronization with the sickness was maximal. She had become immortal. But she was no more human, her form having dissolved in a mass of deformed flesh. However, her conscience was still there. She was still alive. Trapped among her cocoon of flesh, she heard the voice. A voice coming deep from within her monstrous body. The Plague was talking to her. It was kind and soft, two words that were unknown to her. No one knows what the voice told her that day, but the result of this conversation was a miraculous genesis. Emerging from her shell of flesh and bones, Chroma was reborn as a new being.
This rebirth changed her to her very core. She was not this little girl curled under a cardboard box, she was not this young woman at the mercy of the scientists of the Corporation. Not anymore. She was Chroma. The Plague was running in perfect symbiosis in her blood, enhancing her body and mind. She was no longer human, but it was a price she was willing to pay to be free. She was ready.
Chroma was now an unstoppable force, and the Corporation couldn't contain her anymore. Destroying the research center that was keeping her prisoner, the girl escaped and invulontarily released the Red Plague in the Macropolis.
Many years later, Chroma is still on the run. With Orb Corporation and the Emperium after her, she never stays in place for long. She wanders in the city like a ghost, in quest of a meaning for her life.
Notes : Chroma is seen as the public enemy number one by the Emperium and Orb Corporation, and therefore, associating yourself with Chroma might get you in trouble.
